5 YEAR UPDATE
This is my letter to my ‘January 2020 - self’. If I’d have known back then, what I know now, Cheers
IT’S JUST A SEASON
Wherever you are in life, try to appreciate the season. Breathe in the air. Be it warm, cold, sweet, humid, rainy, or dry… it will pass. The season will shift. The season will pass. Just try not to wish it away.
4 YEAR UPDATE
Choose your hard. It’s all hard. It’s all challenging. it’s all Brutal. it’s all Beautiful.
Today I celebrate. Today I cry. Today I accept that it’s all Brutiful.
3 YEAR UPDATE
I knew what it felt like to have a relapse, but what if… what if it wasn’t a relapse, what if it was a baby…
2 YEAR UPDATE
2 years ago, on January 4, 2020, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (RR-MS). At the time I was in a constant state of stress, anxiety and exhaustion.
…In SICKNESS, and in HEALTH…
We met, we dated, we fell in love, … I got sick. Now it feels like our future wedding vows have a heavier weight and meaning to them, than most.
Given to.. Taken from.. Taught to… me
“Wow!!! I had no idea you were going through that… I am so sorry”…
No Progress = Good?
Progress(n): forward or onward movement toward a destination. The act of moving toward a goal
Progress(v): move forward or onward in space or time. To develop to a higher, better, or more advanced stage
31 DAYS BEFORE MY 30th…
At some point, we must abandon the illusion that our life was supposed to turn out differently.
1 YEAR AGO, THE JOURNEY BEGAN
Ideas, suggestions, encouragements, reality checks, and insights welcome, wanted and appreciated. How do you manage your battles? Overcome your moments? Find peace in your wars?
MY FIRST FOLLOW-UP SCANS
MS couldn’t just take my legs… It has to take my memories too!?!?!
FAITH IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES
FAITH. EVEN WHEN THE DARKNESS OVERWHELMS YOUR WORLD. ESPECIALLY THEN.
A FUTURE “REIMAGINED”
We hadn’t even promised each other, “In sickness, and in health”, yet…
THE SYMPTOMS
Dear Multiple Sclerosis, when you imagined how much you could take away from a person, WHY did you have to take away Bread/Carbs too?!
